Remy

5 Yrs. Old Staffordshire Terrier/ Boxer Mix

Remy has been with us just over a year. He has come such long way from the day he was owner surrendered. It was obvious to the local shelter we took him from that Remy had been treated very badly, chained and left outside. His heartless owner didn't want him because Remy was not aggressive enough for him! At first Remy was very fearful, and did not allow anyone to even go near him. As time passed and with the help of many dedicated volunteers at Rescue Ridge, he has learned to trust and his true personality has begun to shine through.... and what a personality it is!
Remy loves to go for car rides and is very well mannered in the car and about town. He also loves his time in the play yard and walks calmly with the volunteers and other dogs. He has made some female dog friends and we think will do best as an only dog or with a female. Remy does not care for other male dogs. He typically needs more time to warm up to men and can sometimes be fearful of hats and hoodies.
We recommend Remy start in a relatively quiet adult home environment. All of us a Rescue Ridge have experienced Remy responding to love and returning that love to an expanding group of volunteers. We know from our experience that his trust will grow and extend to more members your family in a slow measured process.
